Over the weekend I traveled I see my family in the Chicago area, which gave me a 5 hour road trip each way. 10 hours in the car meant I had plenty of time to find my inspiration somewhere!
I went to iTunes, looked for an audio book, and saw “The Morning Miracle” by Hal Elrod pop on my screen. I figured it must have been a sign. Even though I already practice my own version of a “morning miracle” everyday, my practice was in a bit of rut, and this was probably the Universe telling me that I needed to go back to the basics to find my inspiration. Boy was the Universe right!
You have to drop your ego and be willing to learn something new (and yes, go back to the basics) in order to create real progress in your life.
So that is what I did.
It took most of the road trip to listen to “The Morning Miracle” on audio. There were plenty of times where I could have said, “I know this already,” and quit the book to listen to something new and flashy.
Instead, I stayed the course and committed to finishing what I started. I knew I was listening for a reason.
By the end of the book, my inspiration was on fire!
The results were nearly instantaneous:
Today, I woke up at 4 am and started a30-dayy challenge to re-boot my morning love ritual. I have added things I haven’t done in a while, and in just one day I already feel more energized and excited about life!
Michael and I woke up together this morning at 4am (he listened to the book with me) and the first thing that came out of his mouth was… “It’s going to be the best day of my life!” and I felt the exact same way! I popped over to his side of the bed, did a little dance, and repeated the sentiment out loud, “It’s going to be the best day of my life!”
Because really, today should be the best day of your life. Every day can be the best day of your life, you just have to choose it! We could have easily moaned and groaned about our 4am start time, but that is a waste of your precious time on this planet.
My point is…
When you need to be inspired again- go back to the basics! You don’t always need something new. You can find inspiration where it has already existed once for you.
Stay committed, even when you think you already know it all!!!!
Make a choice. Decide that today is going to be the best day of your life, and make this choice EVERYDAY!
Practice a morning love ritual and do whatever you need to do to stay inspired 🙂
You might be curious what my new Morning Love Ritual was today, so here it is. This might give you some ideas to create your own daily fresh start that will keep you excited:
4am- wake up! Do not hit snooze (no-snooze is so key)
Proof I woke up at 4am! Feel free to find me on snapchat (colebombino) to stay inspired with me!
Drink a whole glass of water to wake myself up, wash my face, and brush my teeth
Make a smoothie and tea for Michael and me
Light a candle for 10 minutes of silence (I didn’t want to stop at the 10 minute mark- it felt so good!)
10 minutes of affirmations– since it’s my first day I worked on new ones!
10 minutes of visualization and emotional cultivation– I was so blissed out, I went for 15 minutes 😉
10 minutes of yoga! My fav of course!
15 minutes of reading– I felt so accomplished to get my reading in for the day!
10 minutes of journaling
Now, I am writing this message to you, drinking the smoothie I made, enjoying my energizing Vanilla tea and it’s just about 7am 🙂
It’s feels so good to get so much done by this time. Usually I would just be waking up, with gratitude for the day, but much less excitement. I feel alive! And you can too!
This doesn’t mean you have to wake up at 4am, but do you think you could wake up 10 minutes earlier?
10 minutes could clear your mind, give you energy for the day, and set you on the right path to actually have the best day ever! Is that worth it to you? It should be!
I know it’s scary, but if you try it anyways, you might create something pretty magical from it (my guess is you definitely will)!
Remember, I am doing this challenge for the next 30 days. So if you want to join me, I am here to support you, just shoot me an email. Let’s keep each other inspired. Feel free to share this with friends, and expand your circle of inspiration and accountability. It’s an honor to guide you.
