An Easy Way to Improve Your Meditation Practice

Meditation is such a powerful practice and I want to share an easy way to easily and quickly improve your meditation routine. This is so easy and it’s something you can start doing today – right now!  

Utilizing your breath work will take your meditation to new levels of peace and relaxation. It can connect you to Soul, Source, Spirit, and that place of Inner Harmony. Breath work can truly support you in deepening and improving your practice.


Breath Work

Here’s an easy technique to help you remember to focus on the breath. I talk a lot about the energy work, focus, prayer and so many other things we can bring into our meditation practice.

All of those are super important and key to experiencing the inner peace you can gain through meditation. But your breath work is going to help you prepare your mediation to go deeper into the practice and really help you release stress, attain serenity, and support you in opening your heart and opening your Third Eye so that you can see more clearly in your meditation practice.

Your breath work can provide a divine open channel to Source, Spirit, God.

You can start simple in your breath work by counting the breath.  Count every inhale and count every exhale. Allow the breath count to be equal.  Take it easy to begin with. You may only be able to count to four. As you continue with your practice, you’ll want to deepen and extend that number.  

I invite you to stretch to getting up to 10 as your goal. Once you’re able to reach 10, that’s where you want to be.  

Count the inhale: 1-2-3-4-5-5-7-8-9-10.

And the same for the exhale: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10.

The Retention Point

But, wait for it!  There’s a key component here! The magic in mediation happens at the retention point.

What do I mean by the retention point?

At the bottom of the exhale, hold!  Hold the exhale for as long as possible.  Add a little bonus by focusing on the Third Eye.

Over the next 7 days, utilize the breath work and the counting of your breath and the retention at the bottom of the exhale to support you in improving your meditation practice and in creating new levels of peace, love, or whatever it is you’re looking to source and create from this practice.

Enjoy your breath. Remember the power of your breath.  When we’re exhaling, we’re releasing and clearing old Karmic debt.  We’re letting go of the things that aren’t working.

Your breath is a powerful tool that you have access to at any point throughout the day. I invite you to use it in your meditation, and I also invite you to use it in your life.
